President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (11/20) sent off the second batch of the humanitarian aid for Palestinian people in Gaza, Palestine.

“Alhamdulillah, today we can send off again the humanitarian aid for our bothers and sisters in Gaza. Two aircrafts will carry 21 tons of humanitarian aids, including medicines, medical equipment, food, and other assistances needed for people in Gaza,” the President said.

President Jokowi said that the aid is sourced from collaboration among the Government, private sectors, and non-government organizations.

“The aid sourced from the Government is Rp31.9 billion. The other are sourced from our people, the National Alms Agency (Baznas), private sectors including the beauty company PT Paragon Technology and Innovation, non-government organizations including the Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance, crowdfunding platform Kitabisa, WeCare, and many more,” he added.

For the record, the humanitarian aid will be sent off through El Arish airport in Egypt.

On that occasion, President Jokowi underscored that Indonesia will continue to provide political support for Palestine.

The President further said that Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi who also serves as Indonesia’s Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is currently coordinating with several countries in order to stop war in Gaza. He also expressed hope that a ceasefire can be achieved so that the humanitarian aid can roll to Gaza, Palestine.

“Once again, I reiterate that Indonesia will always be on the side with Palestine and will support all Palestinian people,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (AP/MUR)
